Topic:

How the next generation will embrace the challenges of leading America

Rob Stam’s life is the story of America’s recent hopes and fears. Rob grew up during the boom years of a Midwestern town known for birthing some of America’s most successful entrepreneurs.  He found quick success in the world of start-ups, rising markets and easy credit. As we were all reminded of the painful truth that markets don’t always rise and success is never easy, Rob found himself bankrupt. He lost the custom home and luxury cars but found the real American Dream: success doesn’t come from borrowing against value but creating and preserving value in products, property and people.

On November 24th Rob will walk through his personal journey, which consists of a mix of successes and failures.  He will discuss the lessons learned that can only come from that type of experience and how that knowledge can help the next generation create, maintain, and market successful companies. Rob recognizes that this generation now faces a completely different economic and cultural climate than what we grew up with.  To succeed, we must first embrace the vast differences between the world of today and the world as it was in the hands of the baby boomers and WWII generation.  Rob will explore these thoughts further and offer suggestions on how you can apply them to your business or organization.

Rob Stam is an author and speaker with a focus on how the next generation will embrace the challenges of leading America. His book, Almost Our Time releases in early December of this year.  He is the founder of The Big Red Group, a Michigan based business development firm that specializes in the creation and implementation of launch, capitalization, and expansion strategies.
