Join us at 7:30am to meet other young professionals, business leaders, and area interns. We will be engaging in a stimulating discussion of "managing" versus "leading", and how different leadership styles affect young professionals in the modern workplace. Doors open and coffee/pastries available at 7:30 am. Welcome remarks and panel begin at 8:00 am.
This is a free event with coffee and pastries provided. Registration for this event is free but is required. From business leaders to young professionals to interns to anyone interested, all are welcome to attend!

About the speakers:
Keri McCarthy is knowledgeable in staffing management with over 21 years of experience in talent acquisition, retention, talent branding, process implementation, problem solving, and business unit reorganization. Keri has worked in a variety of industries assisting companies in acquiring top talent as well as developing a solid culture and infrastructure. She is also the instigator of DISHER nerf wars!
Scott Patchin has a core belief that managing transitions is the key to success. For individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations, transitions contain great opportunities and great risks. His coaching and leadership development work focuses on maximizing the opportunities and minimizing the risk. He brings to these conversations personal experience in a wide variety of professional and organizational transitions. He has experience working with leaders from a variety of industries, including: local government, IT services, education, software, healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, banking, not-for-profit, and construction.
Scott is an experienced implementer for a strategic planning tool for growth focused organizations called EOS®(Entrepreneurial Operating System). In his words, “EOS creates a leadership development classroom in your business, so you work, learn, and experience coaching without leaving your business.” Scott is also a published author (his second book is titled People-Centered Performance) , an active blogger and speaker on leadership and healthy growth for individuals and organizations. He lives in Holland, Michigan with his wife and four children.
Abbey's aim is to empower others to become more dependable, fearless and successful leaders – whether they’re a stay-at-home parent or CEO of a global corporation...and to win a hot pepper eating competition. She is a Certified Gallup StrengthsFinder Coach, has a BA in Psychology from Hope College, and a Masters Degree in Leadership and Communications from Gonzaga University. She is a founding Partner in AG Collaborative.
Jeremy Gonsior is a communications professional dedicated to simplifying complex ideas through compelling copy. He is the communications coordinator at Hamilton Community Schools by day, and the owner of a content marketing agency, The Jeremy Gonsior Group, by night. He is a former member of the HYP Marketing Committee and HYP Events Committee. Gonsior enjoys long walks on the beach with his family, University of Michigan sports, Frank Lloyd Wright homes, and every roast of coffee imaginable.
